Consenting Progress

In the early stages of processing of the consent applications, HDL was advised by the Regional and District Councils that they intended using external consultants (OPUS) to review all aspects of the Project. Following the close of submissions (30 January 2009), the HDL team spent a day on-site with Council staff and the OPUS consultants to give them a first-hand view of the proposal and to discuss issues in the field. The site visit was then followed by a joint request from Councils for additional information encompassing a whole range of issues. HDL responded to this request on the 9th of April 2009. Our team has also meet with most of the parties that made opposing submissions on the project and those interested have been taken on individual site visits to discuss their concerns further. Currently HDL are awaiting Councils' comments on the additional information supplied. Meanwhile, we have forwarded draft conditions to the Councils and HDL believe that these, read in conjunction with the additional information, address all the issues of concern with the Project.
